It is no secret that Erik Karlsson is one of the most dynamic players in the league. The two-time Norris Trophy winner, who led the league in assists last season, is one of the slickest skating players in the entire league.
He put that on full display against the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night, deking Leo Komarov out his shoes.
Since coming into the league, Karlsson has become the premiere offensive defenseman in the entire league. So much so that St. Louis Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock referred to him as a forward before their matchup with the Senators.
Karlsson isn’t quite on his point-per-game pace from a year ago, but he isn’t far off, currently with 37 points in 43 games played. He can certainly hit the 70-point mark for the fourth time in his career at his current pace.
